Life Happens

I started this blog thinking I would be able to write an entry every couple of days. I really didn't think it would be a big deal. Boy was I wrong. I woke up and realized life was happening and my plans were out the window.

I started to work on my truck that hadn't been running right. I thought I had it diagnosed as a faulty EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve. When I went to remove it, the bolts were seized and would not come loose. The only way I could remove it was to break the bolts off and drill them out. So that is what I did. Now is when all of the fun started. We had a rain storm a couple days before and this was the first time I had been in the garage since. Went to turn on the lights, nothing. Plugged in my drill, nothing. The garage had no electricity. Checked the deep freeze, you guessed it, thawed out food. Things just wasn't going as planned.

So I checked the fuse block and found I had a fuse blown. A trip to the lumber yard and a fuse later I had power back on. I then began checking to why the fuse may have blown? I found that the garage roof was leaking down on top of the fuse block. Great a new roof on the garage. All this and my truck is still sitting there tore apart to the point it will not run.

After lunch I started back on the truck. I got my drill bits out and started to drill the bolts out. First drill bit was dull and would not drill. So I grabbed a second one. You guessed it, it wouldn't drill either. I hunted around and found the only other drill bit of that size in the garage. It was dull too. By this time my patience was pretty thin so I decided to do a temporary fix and plug the EGR Valve ports off and work on it the next day when I had more time, because it was suppose to rain again and I still had a leaky roof to fix.

Long story short, I finally borrowed a good drill bit off a good friend and was able to put the EGR Valve back on. The kicker is that the EGR Valve was not the problem. It turned out that there was a vacuum line that was broke that I had over looked. All that trouble for a little vacuum line. Life Happens.

My advice to you if you ever find yourself in a situation such as this, is to stop, take a deep breath, and remind
yourself that it happens. There is nothing you can do to change it. Pick one thing and deal with it then move on to the next. Conquer life. Do not let it conquer you.

Thank you for visiting. Have a blessed day.
